Drop a Whiskey Kindling stick into any sized glass Mason jar, then submerge in a whiskey or bourbon of choice, and let time do the rest. Start with a mixing standard, a bottle collecting dust, or go ahead — try the top shelf. Anything goes.
Taste after 24 hours. You'll notice a marked difference in complexity. Love it? Pull the stick. Want more? Replace the lid and check back in another 24. Just one to two days transforms an ordinary bottle into something remarkable.
Each stick ages one newly-opened 750ml bottle. Single use — then compost it, bury it in the garden, or keep it for the BBQ and a special smokey flavor.
The hardest part? The patience.
Instructions:
- Place one stick in a clean Mason jar, with lid
- Submerge a single Kindling in 750ml of your whiskey or bourbon, but don't forget to reserve a couple ounces for comparing later
- Taste at 24 hours, 36 or 48 — remove Kindling when you've found your sweet spot
